International Drone Expo 2016
Out of the Box Innovations took a trip to the IDE 2016 and had a chance to check out some cool new tech and introduce the VLX230 to the racing community. The expo itself wasn’t the most interesting thing in the world with only a handful of drone racing companies there wasn’t a huge showing. There were some very nice frame options from Dronhaus and we enjoyed sharing the VLX230 with them! Definitely going to see some good things coming of this!
The Aerial Photography SideThe aerial photography had a little stronger presence with different professional, consumer, and prosumer models on display.
RacesThe big draw for this show was the race course set up by Multi-GP with racers from all over. The track itself was very tight and required a lot of concentration from the pilots as they tried to navigate the tricky course that included a suspended pair of loops that took out more than a few seasoned veterans. Many of the racers had some unique frames and a lot of fast equipment on board their racers.
VLX230 IntroductionToward the end of the races on Sunday, the VLX230 was introduced to “Bapu” who seemed to zero in on it as soon as he saw it. While asking questions about the frame and getting excited other notable racers seemed to take interest as well noting the vertical limb alignment and asking questions about weight and durability. Bapu has since posted some very nice comments about the VLX230C!
Suffice to say that the VLX230 has already made an impact just by its design. The future looks bright for this frame and is already on preorder till the end of January. You can find them here for preorder;
The first sales will be available toward the end of February.
